We are missionaries wherever we go…

…sometimes we just travel a little farther and stay a little longer.

The Wind at My Back

Sometimes life is just hard. You know what I’m talking about? You feel like you just keep struggling and struggling and never really make any progress.

Today I was riding my bike around town and I had a few moments like that. Ada has many hills, and there was a strong wind from the south today. At one point in my ride I was facing a really steep, long hill – plus my legs were getting really tired. All of a sudden, the strong wind was at my back, and it almost felt like it was pushing me up the hill. I really felt the Holy Spirit speaking to me, saying, “Keep going, do not give up. You can make this. I am always with you.”

Life is just crazy right now for me, and maybe you can relate. Maybe life is not really getting to you right now, but it probably has or probably will. Today I really felt encouraged by the Lord. It made me think of these verses in Hebrews 13:5-6

5 Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”6 So we can confidently say,
”The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear;
what can man do to me?”

May you know that the Lord never leaves you. His wind is pushing at our backs, helping us the trials and mountains of this life. Do you trust Him today to be there for you?

Just some thoughts from my day, hopefully to encourage yours.

Grace and peace,

Doug
